Jeff Jarvis: What Would Google Do?

February 25th, 2009

This has some very good points that can be applied to SL business ideas and product designs. Rather than developing product in a closed door release environment. StudioTFG is going to model itself on this type of philosophy.

Linden Labs Buys XStreet SL (SLExchange) and ONRez

January 21st, 2009

Wow. I am not feeling good about this. I really hope that LL doesn’t mess up what SLX built up over the years. I’m going to continue on, business as usual. I’m putting the finishing touches on my new in world store but if XSSL (SLX) goes south I’m not going to be able to keep doing things in SL.

My guess is that Kaneva will be getting a huge wave of new sign ups. I know I did.

Sneek Peek: Sculpted Cthulhu Statue

October 16th, 2008

After several requests development of a sculpted version of the Cthulhu statue is well underway. All the sculpting is done and we’re very pleased with the results. The prim version of this item is 63 prims. This new sculpted version should be about 14! That is 78% fewer prims! This new version is also much more dramatic and closer to the intended vision of the sculpture. The texturing process begins shortly and we’ll have this fantastic new version for sale both in-world and on XStreetSL.com (aka slexchange.com) very soon! The texturing will be hand painted specifically for the individual pieces of the sculpture. We may even release a few versions of the sculpture each in various materials.

In the meantime here are a few images of the sculpt prior to being textured. You can see this in world yourself by visiting the Studio TFG store and look at the ‘In Development’ shelf.
